NAPIER' WOOL SALES.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. The third and last wool sale for this year took place in Napier to-day, when ■ th« combined catalogue of brokers numbered about S3BOO bales. The benches were fully occupied hj oversea and Dominion buyers. Bidding was spirited throughout the afternoon, and there was./
a good clearance of the catalogue under the hammer. According to expectations, the w»ol offered was mostly from the back country, and it was therefore dingy, and generally lacking that bright and clean condition which characterised the wool submitted at previous sales. Consequently prices realised were on a lower level, but taking the quality and condition into consideration, the prices bore favorable comparison. Several nice clean clips were offered, and these reached figures quite equal to last sale's, although in some instances there was a drop of about y 2 d per lb. Pieces, bellies, and locks sold fully up to last sale's rates, and taking the sale as a whole the results for growers were better than anticipated. The average prices weTe as follows: Halfbred, 9d; fine crossbred, 9d to 9%d; medium crossbred, 8d to B%dj coarse crossbred, 7d to 7%d; lambs' wool, 8d to 10% d; first pieces, 6%d to 7%d; second pieces, 4%d to 6d; bellies, to 6%d; crutchings, 5d to 5%d; locks, 3d to 4',4d.
