Owing to the absence of a witness it will be continued in May. 'Miss Malecka is charged with political conspiracy. There was a great dispute as to whether she was of British or Russian nationality.
SUGAR CONVENTION. Brussels, February 14. The official sugar conference renewed the convention for five years, allowing Russia to export an extra 150,000 tons in the present season and a further 100,000 tons spread over the following years.
DOCK WAREHOUSE BURNED. Amsterdam, February 14. A dock warehouse, belonging to the Compagnie de l'Ocean, has been destroyed by fire. The damage is £83,000. FRENCH NAVAL PROGRAMME. , Paris, February 14. The Chamber of Deputies adopted the naval programme in general, and agreed that it embodied the minimum compatible with national safety.
