ANTI-DEFENDERS' VIEWS.

At a meeting of the National Peace and Anti-Militarist Council it was resolved to empower the executive to arrange for counsel to defend the lads having religious or conscientious objections to service under the present Defence Act, and to invite the lads prosecuted under the provisions of the Act to communicate with the secretary of the council (Christchurch). It was further resolved, in view of prosecutions, to at once proceed with a vigorous organisatiAn campaign. Mr. C. N. R. Macldc was appointed nationa lorganiser, and will immediately tour the Dominion for the purpose of forming leagues and organising those who are opposed to the compulsory sections of the Act. Arrangements are in hand for a large supply of literature and for the distribution of same. An appeal is made to all sympathisers for funds to prosecute the campaign, and an invitation is extended to all opposed to compulsory military training to communicate with the secretary re the formation of leagues. At the league's meeting the General Laborers' Union decided to boycott those employers who boycott youths who refuse to be trained.
