FROZEN MEAT.
AN ALLEGATION REFUTED. By CaJble—Press Association—Copyright. London, February 11. An agitation has been caused in the Liverpool workhouse owing to the committee refusing to substitute frozen meat for home-killed meat, and thus> make a saving of £4OOO annually. The committee alleged that the shrinkage of, imported meat in cooking made home-killed meat cheaper. Tests, however, have shown that home-killed meat lost 19%0z per 101b, chilled meat 17% oz, and frozen meat 19y 2 oz. The agitation continues.
