A dramatic attempt is being made at Chicago to persuade Mr. Roosevelt to stand for the Presidency. Eight Governors and a number of delegates, representing twenty-eight States, met informally and appointed a committee to approach the ex-President and ask him to became a candidate.
Ex-Governor Joseph Folk withdrew his candidature at the Democratic nomination for the Presidency.
