Hatrick and Company wrote under date, January 22, pointing out that their wharf had been blocked for soma considerable time and. further, that they were unable to make use of the siding owing to block on line through the board's workmen. This block necessitated them carting all gooda inwards and outwards, and they must therefore charge the board with the cost until the repairs were completed. Messrs. They, therefore, advised that the board admit no liability in the matter. The chairman said that he did not think the board was responsible for blocking the .wharf. Mr. Rattenbury moved that the board does not recognise any liability. Seconded by Mr. Smith and carried without discussion. GENERAL. Messrs. Priestman Bros, notified that the grab had been shipped by the sjb. Tainui. Mr. John Mitchell (Westport) applied for the position of harbormaster.—Resolved to inform him that the board are not calling for applications.
