TERRIBLE EXPLOSION
THIRTEEN KILLED-SIX INJURED. RAILWAY WORKS WRECKED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 11, 5.15 p.m. Ottawa, February 10. A terrific explosion, owing to a premature discharge of dynamite, wrecked the railway construction works on the Island of Rainy, in Lake Ontario. The whole of the surrounding rock strata was uprooted. Thirteen men were killed and six injured. The bodies were dreadfully mangled. The foreman was blown 140 feet.
