Captain Young, of the Government Veterinary Department, was a visitor to New Plymouth yesterday. Captain Holford; has been appointed local manager to Lloyds Agency, in succession to Captain Nftwton, who vacates the position at end of the montjhl Mr. J. B. Jack has resigned the presidency of the Ikaroa DMnot Maori Sand Board. Mr. CH. T. Brown, of Wellington, has been appointed to succeed In. Jack, and to be a eommissioner of the Native Land Court. Mr. C. E, MeCojmick has been appointed a judge of the High Court of the Cook Islandk-Prese wire. Inspector Puller, whose name has been very prominently before the public during the recent Wellington tramway troubles, and whose transfer to a braneh of the service where he wouhiriot come into contact with the members of the Tramway Union was made a condition of the strike settlement, is to be given a position at the head office of the Tramways Department in the meantime, says the Dominion. v
