Oil and mud were thrown ovJ the top of the derrick, and the pressurl of gas was so strong that it was found impossible to lower the tools. The flow • continued for about an hour, after which the sand pump was lowered and borfmr continued. Everything went fairly smoothly till about % o'clock .m-flur afternoon, when the second blow-out occurred. If anything it was greater fIW the previous one, a great deal of 0* and mud being thrown over the derrick. ENORMOUS GAS PRESSURE. , t Between six and ten o'clock last the gas pressure was tremendous, otf coming up freely from between the casings, whilst the sand pump brought w>a good deal from the bore proper. Only about five barrels of oil were saved Owing to the gas pressure it. is found possible to connect a pipe with the well 1 and so save the oil, a great amount of ' which was lost yesterday and the day before.
