At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, George Watson, who calls, himself a "hydropathic specialist," and carries on a business known as "The Health Supply C 0.," in Cashel street, was charged witK having used an instrument illegally on a : young woman for the purpose of procuring abortion. On the application of Chief Detective Bishop, who said that the young woman was in a hospital in a serious condition, accused was remanded for one week. ; i
Mr. Caasidy, counsel for accused, asked his Worship to consider the question of allowing bail. His Worship replied that bail was out of the question. There could be no bail granted while any doubt remained as to the girl's physical state.
