The Labor Conference adopted resolutions in favor of Government controlling the marketing and distribution of goods, fixing the price of necessaries of life, paying pmplo.vees in Government works for public holidays, fixing the hours of nurses and other employees in hospitals and asylums at 44 per week, and that all future Government appointments, such as that of railway commissioner, be given to Australians, or, their qualifications being equal, to New Zealanders.
