The arrangements for emigration made by Sir John Taverner, Victorian AgentGeneral, include 5200 additional berths during 1912, and 10,950 each during 1913 and 1014, in the Milburn, Tyser and Peninsular lines. This brings the 1912 totals ttf 14,000. : ' Seven new boats will )>e utilised, and of these five will have refrigerating space for 100,000 ' sheep apiece. Five will be used exclusively by Victorian „emigrants r and Victoria is free, to secure, additional accommodation by other lines. THE SELECTION; OF IMMIGRANTS. ' v • s - ' ■ -Sydney,. January 25.' The Cabinet has decided to supersede the present nominative system for immigrants by a selective system.
