JAPANESE IN HAWAII.
.— THIRTY-TWO THOUSAND IN GROUP. The United States Government hare a little Japanese scare of their ovni on h«wl just now (says a cable from Wash-iii;.y-n to the Sydney Sun). ■ ■'. jor-General Carter, Chief of Staff of tli, United States, Army, declares that 32,000 trained Japanese soldiers have been smuggled into Hawaii since the Russo-Japanese war. The United States J .Government, realising the danger, have ■ taken steps to send 13,000 troop 3to the 1 islands. '_ ''The Japanese now in Hawaii," re- ' marked Major-General Carter, " are not enlisted in the Japanese army, but they ' are; all experienced soldiers. The Oriental e an do anything he pleases in Hawaii ' without attracting the notice of the War ' Department." It was learned recently that the Government have been secretly investigating" the conditions in Hawaii, and all the Orientals there are being closely watched.
