J _ Igr TeJegraffo—Press Amocttthm* Dunedin, Last Night. ; The second wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 21,302 bales were offered. There was a large gathering of buyers, Bradford, Continental, America* and New Zealand woollen mills being strongly represented. Bidding was rery spirited for all descriptions of wool. The greater part of the total catalogue was sold under the hammer at . most satisfactory prices as compared J with the December sale, prices .being all ■I round about %d better. The catalogue included some of the x most noted clips in Otago, all of which j were in really splendid condition. Owing to the rainy season, the wool from some _ of the high country stations in the south _ was in a very light condition, and, conjust what was required for the American trade, whose representatives showed their appreciation of it by bidding with great vigor. Certain of the wools were tender, and these the Amerir cans left severely alone. The record price for the season in r New Zealand was paid at this sale, , namely, I 3y 2 d for nine bales of merino wethers. For fleece wool of all descriptions the ■ market was appreciably firmer, especially for finer wools. Half-bred and crossbred wools also showed an advance, good clips reaching Is. In some cases pieces and locks also found a good sale and participated in the rise.
