AMERICA AND THE DAVIS CUP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, January 15. The Herald, referring to the cabled statement that America will not compete for the Davis Cup outside America, states that the regulations governing ( the contest have to be altered by twothirds of the nations which have competed. If the cup is returned to America by legislation instead of conquest it will be only Dead' Sea fruit. It is hard to believe that America will put forward such a suggestion.
