BRITISH LABOR TROUBLES.
THE MINERS' BALLOT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright London, January 14. It is estimated that the miners' ballot will give a majority of four to one in favor of a strike. There is a large majority for a strike in Northumberland and Durham, though a number of collieries are against it and others refused to vote.
The Durham funds exceed £400,000, sufficient for a nine weeks' strike. A conference of masters and men will be held in London on January 32. The advance in the price of coal has resulted in a tremendous public demand, particularly in the Midlands and North.
