RECORD PRICE FOR CHEESE.
MAY BE BEATEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Might. Mr. J. R. Scott, secretary of the South Island Dairy Association, has received a cablegram quoting New Zealand butter at 1375, and cheese (white) at 745, and colored at 73s 6d. Weddell & Co. cable that they have sold all their cheese, ex Turakina, at equal to 7 1-ltid per lb, f.0.b., net. This is a record price, but Mr. Scott says it is not improbable that it will yet be beaten, as cheese is evidently in an abnormally short supply.
