Harry TVaidor, secretary of the' Western Lawn Tennis Association, announces that the United States players would cease to be contestants for' the international trophy unless the Australasians agreed to plav on American soil for t-bj Davis Clip, \\ aider said he believed this was the feeling of tennis players throughout the country. The first tennis match this season as far as New Plymouth is concerned will be played this afternoon, when the New Plymouth Club will send six men and four ladies to Fitzrov. The teams are: New Plymouth—Misses Kirkby, Rundle. Greatbatch. and Clarke, and Serseant Dart, Dr, Fookes. and Messrs. C. Webster. A. C. Thompson, and A. IT. and I. P. 05-rant. Fitzroy will be repre? sented by Misses Potier, Arthur. Jackson. and Sole, and Messrs. W. Lints, L. C. McTsniic. H. Broadnrore, R. If. Jaclcson, L. P. Sole, and W. H. Broome.
