QUARTBORILY MEETING. The quarterly meeting in connection with the New Plymouth Circuit was held on Wednesday night, the Rev. J. W. Burton presiding ov*r a good attendance of officials; The membership returns showed that there were 277 full members of the church, an increase of six on the quarter. A resolution of appreciation of the life of the late Mrs. E. Okey and of sympathy with the family was passed; also a resolution of sympathy with Mrs. Palk on the death, of her husband, the Rev. C. Palk, home missionary at Rahotu. The stewards presented a balancesheet showing nearly £2O credit on the quarter's working, .despite the fact that there had been numerous wet Sundays. The credit balance now stands at £76 lis. Very appreciative remarks were made concerning the pulpit ministrations of the minister of Whiteley Church, members of the meeting, saying that they had benefited both intellectually and spiritually as a result. The five Sunday Schools were well reported on. The new schools at Frankleigh Park and at Vogeltown were making splendid progress, It was decided to reserve April 14 as the date for the Sunday School anniversary. 'The chairman reported the formation of a Christian Endeavor Society in connection with Whiteley Church. On the nomination of the Rev. J. W. Burton, Messrs. J. Gibson and E. N. L. Okey were re-elected circuit stewards for the ensuing year.Mr. E. X. L. Okey was elected representative to Conference with Mr. V. Griffiths, and Mr. Bestford as substitute. Tlie action of the informal meeting oi officials in engaging a deaconess to work in the circuit was confirmed, and a strong committee was set up to render necessary assistance in connection witli the new enterprise.
