A BURGLAR COMMITTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. At 4.30 on Christmas morning the shop of Rasli and Gooder, jewellers, was entered by burglars, an iron bar on the workshop window being sawn through, and jewellery valued at £27 taken. Today a man named Bruno O'Moller, with several aliases, was charged with the theft and also with having burglars' tools in his possession. He pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence! Accused, who was arrested wheft. leaving the premises by a constable, assisted by the night-watchman, was armed with a billet of wood, with which he tried to hit the watchman. A WOMAN AND AN EGG. Nelson, Wednesday. At the Magistrate's Court a woman named Thomason. wife of a publican, was fined 5s for throwing an egg on the dress of a no-license advocate at a street meeting preceding the elections. Accused pleaded that she threw the egg at a heckler, but it accidentally struck the no-license advocate. A DAYLIGHT ROBBER. Wellington, Wednesday. A man named Albert Neilson, aged 36, pleaded guilty to entering a private dwelling and stealing goods of the value of £3 and was committed for sentence. The robbery was committed in presence of the woman occupier of the premises, accused saying he would take what lie liked and would knock her brains out if she interfered.
