BRITAIN'S FOREIGN TRADE.
A SOLID INCREASE. By Cabl«—Press Association—Copyright London, January 7. The Board of Trade returns for December were issued yesterday. These show that, compared with December, 1910, there was a decrease of £4,107,447 in the value of imports, an increase of £1,147,769 in the exports of Home products, and a decrease of £1,156,770 in exports of foreign and colonial products. Imports were greater by £2,269,057, and exports by £23,692,649, but re-exports fell off by £1,016,305. The total volume of trade has been checked to a considerable degree during the last half-year, owing to strike troubles in Britain and the unsettled condition of affairs abroad, especially in the East.
