A FIGHTING PARSON AS, REFEREE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, January 8. In a boxing contest at Longreach in aid of the hospital, the judges were unable to agree. The Rev. Mr. Sams, who is known as "the fighting parson," ■ was referee, and gave his decision for : a draw. A section of the audience - hooted Mr. Sams, who invited anyone i who disagreed with the decision to step into the ring with him. Two other parsons acted as ringside officials.
