TWO PAGEANTS. INDESCRIBABLE ENTHUSIASM. B7 Gable—Press Association—Copyright Calcutta, January 7. In the presence of half a million spectators on the Maidan, their Majesties witnessed two pageants, the first representing the Mahommedan New Year's Day procession of Nurshidabad of a hundred years ago, the second a procession of Hindu and Dasahara princes Thirty states contributed to the spectacle, and included 57 elephants and 35 camels. Indescribable popular enthusiasm was «kown, in spite of fear to the comtrary owing to the removal of the capital. The city was splendidly illuminated.
