The chairman said if the stumps were j to foe drawn at 6.30 that rested with the! umpire, and the association had nothing | ■ to do with that. As regards the match) | starting half an hour rule's! 3 provided for that, and the letter did not B say they were over that time. . ' Mr. Wilson (Urenui) said his team • was a little late in arriving on account of punctures to their motor tyres, but, as s a matter of fact, were ready to start 1 the match five minutes before Waitara, as the latter were waiting for a man. The chairman pointed out' that the letter was unsupported by evidence. Mr. Perham said he was sorry there was a protest. Teams could not always arrive to time, and it was no credit to t a club to win a match on a protest. Mr. Wilson pointed, out that as his :- team was the travelling one, he did not [. see that it affected' Waitara very much. a He did not consider they could claim the e match when both sides had 80 runs, i, Resolved, on the motion of Messrs. Mr. Williams and Mr. Whittle supported the proposal, the latter remarking that no one was more entitled to it than Mr. Gwillim, who had also done a lot in keeping the ground in order. It was unanimously decided to award Mr. Gwillim the bat, for which he thanked Mr. Bewley and the members Mr. Bewley promised another bat, but suggested that the committee should state what it Bhould be given for.
