, CHARGE OF FORGERY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Yesterday. . A 'youth named Arthur Reginald Boyd was committed for trial to-day on a charge of forging the name of •Bert Welsh to a cheque for £lO, and uttering the same to William Harvey. X.Z. SHIPPING COMPANY. Christchurch, Yesterday. 'lt is understood there will be no change in the representation of the New Zealand and Federal Shipping Companies in the Dominion, the concerns being carried on in different establishments as at present. The transaction reported by cable is not in the nature of an amalgamation. WAREHOUSE ROBBERY. Blenheim, Yesterday. With regard to the burglary at Clouston's bond, James Bremer, contractor, John Wilson, William Stevenson, and James Hayden, seamen on the steamer Blenheim, were brought up in' court to-day, eharged with breaking and entering. Frank Campbell was also charged with being in possession •of stolen goods. Accused were remanded till January 13, bail of £IOO each being allowed. CHARGE OF FORGERY. Gisborne, Yesterday. Alexander McLeod, alias Smith, pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence, for forging a cheque for £5 on the Bank of New Zealand, Napier. He was remanded to appear at New Plymouth on a charge of forging a cheque for £8 on the Bank of New Zealand at Waitara. SLY GROG SELLING. Wellington, Yesterday. As the result of raids during the Christmas and New Year holidays, Arthur Robinson and Arthur Stevens were each fined £-2 and costs or a month's , imprisonment for illegally selling liquor. Two others were accused of beiug found on premises where liquor had been illegally sold, and were also fined. Several otker cases were adjourned.
