A TIDAL WAVE.
FROM A FALL OF CLIFF. By Cable—Press Association—-Copyright. London, January I. A tidal wave several feet high was experienced at Folkestone, and damaged small craft. The noise was heard miles away. The tidal wave was caused by a huge fall from the cliffs near Dover. GREAT FALL OF CHALK. Received 2, 11.25 pjn. London, January 2. One hundred thousand tons of chalk fell at Dover, forming a causeway extending 400 yards out to sea 200 yards wide.
