BOUTS AT TIMARU. / Timaru, Last Night. At the boxing tournament to-night a very fine contest was witnessed between Lister (Timaru) and Boreham (Otago champion), middle-weights. It was a ■clean, square go, Lister Wihning "oif points. In the feather-weight division Armstrong (Dunediin) met Bennett (Timaru). The former gave in, as his ribs were bent in the third round.
In the heavy-weight go Mathewson (Otago champion), who played himself out early, got so punished that lie gave in in the fifth round.
Some local light-weights filled up the programme.
