By Cables-Press Association—Copyright, London, December 28. The Eastern Telegraph Company's deferred rate to Australasia applies to public messages. NEW ZEALAND NOT TO BENEFIT, By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Post Office states that the impression given by a Wakapuaka message, that deferred plain language telegrams could be sent at half rates between Australasia and all British colonies and dependencies, is incorrect. The rate applies only to countries for which the ordinary is not less, than lOd a word. The Postmaster-General has not yet succeeded in concluding an arrangement for deferred half-rate telegrams between New Zealand and Australia.
