TARIFF PROPOSALS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 29, 10.10 p.m. Washington, December 29. A revision of the iron and steel schedules will be the first tariff legislation after Congress convenes. It is understood that the Ways and Means Committee intend to postpone the wool schedule until every feature of the Tariff Board's report on the subject is thoroughly studied. In the meantime other tariff measures will be pressed. The pulp paper manufacturers have brought pressure to bear on Mr. Taft with a view to inducing him to refuse the demand of certain European Governments to grant admission of pulp for printing paper on the same terms as the Canadian product.
