THE EMPIRE THEATRE. Notwithstanding tlu\ downpour of ruin that started at 7.30 last evening and continued throughout the evening, the new Empire incatre was well filled last evening. only a few chairs being vacant. The programme was very interesting, including a colored scenic, "In the Solomon Islands," two stirring dramas, "Craven Heart" and "'The Thief and the Girl"; two c-omics, ''Always away," and "Florrie goes to a hoarding school." The sensational and wierd "Zigomar" was also shown, to the unfeigned delight of everyone present, the programme concluding with an exciting comedy, entitled "That Dave Devil." At the request of a number of patrons, the great industrial picture, "The Panama Canal," is to he included in -to-night's programme, which otherwise will be similar to last night's. On Saturday night there will be a complete change of programme. "Zigomar" is to be shown at Waitarami Saturday, together with a series of other pictures.
