Mr. Willis' action in suspending the chief of the Hansard staff met with the combined opposition of the Labor members, many of wl.om, joining with the Liberals, are openly denouncing the so-called despotism. The peculiarity of the position is that nobody knows exactly how to remove the Speaker, as the point never rose before. The general opinion is that the House must dissolve. "CANNOT CONTINUE." Sydney, December 25. Tt is believed that as a result of Saturday's meeting Cabinet has given Mr. Speaker Willis to understand that the present position of affairs in the Assembly must not continue.
