BUSINESS NOTICES.
In their replace announcement to-day Messrs. .Morey & Son draw attention to their fine selection of dressing gowns and tea gowns. With regard to the sale of the Pakowhai Estate at Hastings on January 10 it has been rumored that high reserves are to be placed on the various blocks. The auctioneers desire to emphatically contradict this, as they have the best authority for stating that it is the owners' intention to sell every section if the prices offered are anywhere within reason. Plans of this estate can now be obtained from any of Dalgety & Company's branches throughout New Zealand. In connection with the sale of the subdivision of the Pakowhai Estate, to be held at Hastings on January 10 next, arrangements have been made with a strong dairy company to erect a cheese factory on the property on a guarantee of 600 cows being obtained for three years. Almost the whole number of cows has already been promised from neighbors in the vicinity. The Dairy Company will erect the factory within two months, and will pay for the balance of this season Is O'/id per lb of butterfat, and a minimum price of Is per lb. of butter-fat for next season. Prices for the next five years would not be less than the average price paid in Wellington province. Apart from the many ways in which "Pakowhai" land may be utilised, it is particularly suitable for dairying; indeed, it would be hard to find better in the Dominion. The blocks have been surveyed into various sizes to suit everyone. After reading the advertisement with regard to this sale, which appears in our advertising columns, prompt request should be made to the auctioneers for a plan, and thereafter arrangements made to go over the property at the earliest opportunity. Mr. S. Stewart Huston, of Inglewood, has disposed of his stock of clothing and mercery, the purchasers being the Melbourne Clothing Company.
