ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A WHARF FATALITY, 3y Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. At the inquest held to-day on William Wrixon, who died on Tuesday as the result of being knocked from the deck of the Manuka to the wharf by a sling, on the 15th, a verdict of accidental death -as returned. The coroner said that -■•me steps should be taken to provide •,-. orkers with some protection on deck. SUICIDE BY SHOOTING. Pahiatua, Last Night. Wm. Griffin, who shot himself in the abdomen, died at the hospital to-day. As Griffin was in practically a dying condition when he shot himself, no inquest is necessary. SAWMILL HAND INJURED. A serious accident happened on the Upper Carrington Road on Wednesday. No one seems to know how it happened, as the injured man, whose name is Arms, is unable to give any explanation. He was employed at Simon's sawmill, and had his arm broken by a log falling off a trolley. When Dr. Milroy arrived he found the man unconscious, and ordered his removal to the hospital. Dr. Walker found that the injuries consisted of a scalp wound and a fractured arm.
