FIRES.
A DWELLING BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Tuesday. A fire at Alicetown destroyed a dwelling owned and occupied by Edward i'ointon. The building was insured for £3OO and the furniture for £125. OUTBREAK AT HAMILTON. Hamilton, Tuesday. By a fire last night a .buiMing in Main street, occupied by Shepherd, hardware dealer, and owned* toy IS. J. Mears, the stock and a largo quantity of furniture belonging to Georgetti and Garnhain (the latter manager of the Bank of NewSouth Wales), which was stored! in the building, was burnt. Gamham's furni-. turc was valued at £OOO, and insured for j £IOO in the National Office; Georgetti'a was insured for £7f>o in the Union i Office. The building was insured in the' South British Office, but the amount is) not known. Shepherd's stock was insured for £4OO in the Northern Office.
