An explosion occurred in the main mine nt the cross mountain system at Knoxville, which entombed probably a hundred miners. Thrones of women and children are besieging the shaft-mouth. Three entombed men escaped by a lateral shaft. Rescue parties were driven out by the flames' without seeing any signs of the victims. Little is expected to be done til! the fire is subdued.
