GREAT MINING SWINDLE.
GET-RICH-QUICK METHODS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Washington, December 8. Investigation is welcomed into the alleged great mining swindle before the Courts at Seattle. A. H. and C. A. Moore are charged with using the United States mails to defraud. They promoted the Alaska Mining Company, advertising itself as owning 5000 acres of gold-bearing lands and £II.OOO collected in stock and subscriptions. and that 300 men had been taken to Alaska to work in developing the property. Dividends of 20 per cent, were promised. It is now alleged that most of the money went into the promoters' pockets, and nothing was done.
