The annual spring show of the Nev Plymouth Horticultural Society will bi held in the Theatre .Royal on Thursday next, I4th inat., and' judging by tin numerous entries that liave already beer received the show should be a record 0111 in every respect. Besides the many ex hi,bits promised by our best -growers there will be exhibits from well knowi horticulturalists outside the town, anc it is expected that the vegetable classes will easily excel anything yet shown ii the district. Exhibitors are remindec that entries close with the secretary or Tuesday next, 12th inst., at 8 p.m. Ladies who read Messrs. Morey and Son's announcement will find thereir much to interest them. It refers tc dressing jackets and gowns. The present election has 'brought about many changes, and there is no doubt that until next Ihursday it will be hard to say which will be the Tilling party, the Opposition or the Government. Whichever party gets into power, however, it will make no difference to the Horticultural Society's spring show, which is to .be held in the Theatre Royal on Thursday next, the day of the second ballot. The salvage stock recently purchased from Messrs. Macky, Logan and Caldau'll, of Auckland, will foe placed on sale 1 by the Melbourne Clothing Company today. The stock chiefly consists of ru«s and blankets, working and neglige shirts, boys' knickers, island hats, indigo prints! glass cloth, twill sheetings, handkerchiefs, etc., all more or less damaged hv smoke and water.
