NO-LICENSE RALLY.
(To the Editor.) Sir—ln reporting my remarks at the above rally last night your reporter could not have heard me clearly, and has credited mo with statements I did wot make. In briefly alluding to the benefits of no-liense as described by the previous speakers I remarked that even in New Plymouth the evidences of 110-license were apparent, as on Sundays New Plymouth was under no-license, as the bars were closed; and, as a result, during my 14 yiears' residence here I had only seen two drunken men -on Sundays. In your figures re the number of men coming* out of the hotels I did not say cverv night, but the number I gave (858) was the number who were known to havie come out of the seven hotels in New Plymouth on a recent Saturday night between the hours of 9 and 10 p.m. I am, etc., 11. COCKER. New Plymouth, December 0, 1911.
