HOOLIGANS AT DUNEDIN.
POLICE DRAW BATONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. There was a recurrence this evening of the disorderly street scenes which have prevailed' during the past four evenings. ■Sacks and garbage were thrown in all directions, and a. large body of police, who were on the scene, were frequently hustled by a crowd numbering several thousands. During the evening, four arrests were made and cha.rges of throwing missiles preferred in three instances and in the fourth a charge of assaulting a constable, which, consisted of striking him with a wet .sack. On the occasion of the last arrest a large crowd followed the police to the station, hooting and boohing. The police drew their batons when the proceedings assumed a threatening aspect. Stones were thrown, one breaking a window at the police station.
