ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
SUSPECTED POISONING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Napier, Thursday. An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Mrs. Tonkin, wife of Captain Tonkin, manager of the Wairoa Shipping Company. Medical evidence showed numerous bruises on the body and one eye discolored'. The state of the stomach led the doctors to suspect the presence of poison, and 1 the inquest was adjourned to permit of analysis. A NATIVE DROWNED. Gishovne, Thursday. A native nstroed Douglas was drowned at Frasertown. He attempted to swim the river.
