Tho poor ••cockies," always inclined to be rather pessimistic in their views, are, at times, nearly forgetting even politics i?i their , condemnation of the elements. Despite the weather, a fair number of Milage people put in an appearance at the Taranaki A. and P. show, and we must congratulate our local exhibitors, Messrs Olson Bros., on the successes of their Ayrshire cattle exhibits. Three ' .firsts, three seconds and a champion, is not a hail record for one show, and clearly shows that their stud cattle rank amongst the best of their breed in New Zealand.
*lolanthe" is now in full swing in Ingleu'ood, and with line weather on Thursday and Friday nights a record attendance is expected. The whole thing is "going" splendidly, the choruses being good, which reflects great credit on MrT H. W. Cottier, the conductor. The orchestra, which includes several of New Plymouth's best pip vers, is very strong, and the whole thing promises to lie a huge succeM.
