BAST END FLYING CLUB. During the past week the New Plymouth East Flyinig Club decided three rac«3. The first event was a flock race from Blenheim, in which thirty-one birds participated, representing seven lofts, with the following results: —F. James' "Pompey" and "Arist,' Bhrs lOmin lOsec, 2; H. J. Movierley's "Diard," and W. Koch's "Kromlee," Bhrs lOmin 20sec, 3. The second event was a flock race from Frankton Junction. Fifty-eight birds, representing 'fourteen lofts, participated in the eyent, and although the birds had to contend with a strong head wind fasic times were recorded. The placed birds were as follows: —IT. J. Moverley's "Bruce," 3hrs 58min, ,1; W. C. Bransgrove's "Carbide," 3hrs 58min 20sec, 2; W. G'leeson's • ——, 3hrs 58min SSsec, 3.
The third event, which was the first race for second hamper birds, resulted as follows: —D. Murphy's "Pirawat," lhr 54min, 1; 11. J. Moverley's "Sparkle," lhr.s7min, 2; C. Hodge's "Royal. Flush," lhr oSmin, 3; C. Cutler's "Iloneycombe," lhr 59min, 4. The next race will be flown from Ch'ristcliuixih.
