ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A SAW MILLER INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Eketiihuna, Monday. A man named Parker, a sawmiller at Kaiparoro, was badly injured on Saturday. A wire rope broke, and the end struck him across the face. He has been unconscioas since, and his condiition is serious, BRIDGE BUILDER INJURED. Stratford, Monday. William Stewart, leading hand -in a bridge construction party engaged in renewing the Patea railway bridge, was struck by a falling trestle and his skull fractured. His condition is critical. A BOY DROWNED. Dunedin, Monday. Robert Ralph, aged sixteen, a son of Waiter Miller, tram conductor, was drowned at Ocean Beach on Saturday afternoon. He was sairf bathing with a number of other boys, but was not missed till his clothes were discovered. His body lias not been recovered.
DEATH FROM BURNS. Rotorua, Last Night. Ella Isabella Finlay, a married woman, died at the sanatorium last night as the result of burns sustained early on Sunday week. Her be<l caught fire from citrrfcains ignited l by a- candle placed too near them. ACCIDENT AT SAW BENCH. Wangunui, Last Night. While working a bench saw at Messrs. Green, Mac Lean and Beavens' sash and door factory to-day, a young man named Frank McDcvitt hud the thumb and all the fingers (save the fourth) of the right hand cut off. He was taken to hospital, where he is progressing satisfactorily.
