THE SEAMEN'S AWARD.
OWNERS AIR THEIR GRIEVANCES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, November 27. A meeting of the Steamship Owners' Association will shortly discuss the seamen's award. A leading shipowner declares that the owners have no alternative but to accept it, but it will be very awkward and difficult to conduct discipline under the new conditions, if practicable at all. Another states that the probable result will be the raising of freights and fares.
