The report of the Port of London Authority last year shows that there was a surplus of revenue over expenditure of £095,591. The increase in imports and exports for the year totalled £38,000,000, the greatest progress being in the meat trade, The Port Authority, with a view to meeting New Zealand's representations, have decided to enlarge the scheme of reconstruction of the South-west India dock and render it accessible to vessels of 050 feet in length, but before constructing costly depots and railway equipment the Authority require to be satisfied that the proposed transfer of the meat trade to this' dock will be acceptable to all concerned.
