Messrs Paul Willcox and T. Fleming have been appointed school commissioners at Rahotu, the committee having recently resigned. Captain Stevens, of the New Zealand Stall Corps, and lately of the Royal Fieiu Artillery, will take charge of the New Zealand cadets upon the departure of Major McDonald for England.

The death occurred suddenly at Blenheim on Monday evening of Mr. David (iirdwood, commission agent, at the age of 70 years. Deceased.arrived ill New Zealand in ISGO, and established a business at Dunedin. Subsequently he became a leading importer at- Greymouth, whence he came to Blenheim over twenty years ago. At the time of his death he was one of the leading commission agents of Blenheim.
