Sir Edward Grey, in the House of Commons, said that unless Russia was permitted to export at least half a million tons of sugar westward during the current season, the British Government would give notico to denounce the Sugar Convention in 1913, and British representatives at the Sugar Convention in December would be instructed accordingly.

An amendment making the domestic servants clauses optional was negatived by 242 to 93, but 'Mr. Lloyd-George promised to embody a suggestion to give the servants the option of sick pay and free medical attendance or superannuation and invalidity benefits.
