A HEREFORD CHALLENGE CUP. By Telegraph—Press Association. I'ahnerston North. Last Night, •lames Stuckey. late of Rangituniau, and now of North Devon, England, has secured a handsome challenge cup from the English Hereford Society for the Manawatu A. & P. Association. PALMF.RSTON SHOW PROFITS. Palmcrston North, Last Night. The recent spring show resulted in a profit of over £OOO, more than double that of the 1010 show. NELSON SHOW. Nelson, Last Night. The nineteenth annual show of the Nelson A. & P. Association commenced to-day. -There was a slight falling-off in entries, but not in the principal classes, and on the whole the quality was well maintained. The championships were won as follows Shorthorn bull. F. W. Fairev; Ayrshire. Albert Gibbs: Aldcrnev, Jas. Hunt. Pigs: Berkshire and Tamworth boars, W. R. May; Yorkshire, P. and IT. Haycock. Sheep: Merino rant, D. Bishell (Blenheim); Ronsney Marsh, Tlios. Hunt (Wakefield). The Governor will attend the show to-morrow.
THE TERRA NOVA. Christchurch, Last Night. Regarding cable messages referring to an appeal for £15,000 for the British Antarctic expedition, Mr. J. .1. Kinscy states that originally the funds were insufficient, and the present appeal is for the general purposes of the expedition, the statement that the amount, required was wanted for repairs to the Terra Nova being ridiculous.
