A CHILD KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Saturday. Maude Victoria Graham, five years old, daughter of Roland Victor Graham, was run over by a dray yesterday and Killed instantaneously. At an inquest to-day a verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attached to the driver. A rider was added that drivers of vehicles should be careful not to allow passing children to play about a trap, and that parents should be recommended to warn children of the dangers arising from interfering with vehiculai traffic. SUICIDE WHILE IXSANE. Palmerston N., Last Night. At the inquest concerning the death of ex-Detective Benjamin a verdict was returned of suicide while temporarily insane. FIVE PEOPLE INJURED. Timaru, Last Night. An accident occurred near Geraldine to a party of three cyclists. All collided with a horse and trap in the dark. The cyclists were more or less bruised. The horse swerved and all the occupants of the trap (three ladies, a, man and a child) were thrown out. The man had his collarbone broke]], one lady had a bad cut on her head, and the others escaped with bruises.

TIRAIX AND CART COLLIDE. Christchurch, Last Night. peculiar railway collision occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Park road crossing' of the doubJe line between Christchurch and Addington. The train from Addington to Ciirislchuroh had passed, when the driver of a grocer's cart, unaware that the train from°Christchurch going south was about to pass on the further set of rails, and failih" to appreciate the crossing keeper's signals, essayed to cross. The engine struck the cart in the middle and' the driver of it was thrown out on his head, and taken to the hospital in a semi-conscious condition, but is.now on a fair wav to recovery. Xo bones arc broken. The horse was carried some distance by the eimne, but escaped practically unhurt. °
