THE TARANAKI SHOW.
Next Wednesday and Thursday's great event (our Agricultural Show), on the Racecourse, New Plymouth, only needs fine weather to make it a record gathering in the society's history. • The secretary returned last night from Wimganui, and reports big entries from that end. A laTge number of entries have also been sent in during the last fortnight from "all along the line" and "up and down the coast." As the entries do not close until to-night at 9 o'clock, a very busy day is expected at the secretary's office. The sheep entries already show a big increase on any previous years, the dogs are already treble any previous year, the dairy section is eon-j siderably larger, and in all the stock sec- i tions the very pick of the Dominion's prize-winners will be competing. All the fashionable pure-bred cattle .sections, are filling splendidly, and competition in light and heavy horses will ibe the largest and finest display, yet made. First-rate luncheon and refreshments will be on the ground, accommodation for ladies and children will be amply provided in the grandstand building, an excellent musical programme by tire Taranaki Garrison Bank on Thursday, and splendid jumping and other ring competitions on both days. We anticipate the grand parade of stock and motor-car competitions will eclipse all previous efforts. Rev. Bates please be kind.
